The North Victorian Sri Lankan Association (NVSLA) is a community-based, non-profit organisation formed with a special focus on supporting Sri Lankan seniors living in the northern region of Victoria, while bringing together families across all generations.

Our association provides a welcoming space where seniors can socialise, stay active, and remain connected to their culture, language, and traditions. Through regular gatherings, cultural celebrations, and community events, we aim to reduce social isolation and promote a sense of belonging, dignity, and wellbeing among our elders.

NVSLA proudly organises traditional Sri Lankan cultural activities such as Sinhala and Tamil New Year (Avurudu) celebrations, religious and cultural events, and social programs that allow seniors to relive familiar customs while sharing their knowledge and experiences with younger generations.

In addition to cultural and social activities, we are committed to community care and social responsibility. Our association supports charitable causes, including humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka during times of need, reflecting the values of compassion and generosity held strongly by our community.

We work closely with local councils, community organisations, and volunteers to ensure our activities are inclusive, safe, and beneficial—particularly for seniors. As a newly formed association, we are encouraged by the positive response from our members and the broader community, and we continue to grow with their support.
